Quartz Powder
Quartz is a chemical substance that is composed of one part silicon and 2 parts oxygen. It is composed of silicon (SiO2). It is the most abundant rock on Earth. Its unique properties make it one of nature’s most useful compounds. Quartz rock crystal: Quartz with a transparent “rock crystal” appearance. This specimen demonstrates the mineral’s distinctive conchoidal fracture (fracture that generates curved surfaces). The specimen is approximately four inches (ten cm) across and comes from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Kumarasamy Industries is one of the top quartz manufacturer in India. We are ISO certified quartz supplier and exporter to 30+ countries in the world.
Quartz Manufacturer in India Since 1994
Quartz is one of nature’s most useful materials. Its use is related to its physical and chemical characteristics. It has a Mohs hardness of seven, making it extremely durable. When most substances come into touch with it, it becomes chemically inert. It possesses electrical characteristics as well as thermal resistance, making it useful in electronic goods. Its brilliance, colour, and diaphaneity make it valuable as a gemstone as well as in glassmaking.
Our production unit in Tamilnadu has capacity to product quartz in metric tonnes making us one of the leading quartz manufacturer in India.

Applications of Quartz Powder
Uses of Quartz in Glass Making
Geological processes have occasionally produced sands that are virtually entirely comprised of quartz grains. These deposits have been discovered and developed as a supply of high quality silica sand. These sands are utilised in the glass manufacturing process. Container glass, flat plate glass, speciality glass, and fibreglass are all made from quartz sand.
Quartz glass sand: A high-purity quartz sandstone used for the manufacture of quality and strong glass. Glass sand is a kind of sandstone that is nearly completely composed of quartz grains. In a few places, the Oriskany is more than 99 percent pure quartz. Much of it has been used for container glass, but some of it has been chosen for use in the manufacture of lenses for the world’s greatest telescopes. The specimen is around four inches long (10 cm across).
Uses of Quartz as an Abrasive
Quartz has a Mohs hardness of 7, making it harder than most other natural solids. As such, it is an excellent abrasive. Sandblasting, scrubbing cleansers, grind media, and grit for polishing and sawing all employ quartz sand and grinded silica sand.
Uses of Quartz as a Foundry Sand
Quartz is extremely resistant to chemicals and heat. As a result, it is frequently utilised as foundry sand. It has a greater melting temperature than other metals and may be used for moulds and cores in routine foundry operations. Because of its excellent heat resistance, quartz sand is frequently used to make refractory bricks. Quartz sand is also utilised as a flux in metal smelting.
Silicified “petrified” wood is created when buried plant waste is penetrated by mineral-bearing fluids that precipitate quartz. This quartz fills the holes in the wood and, in certain cases, replaces the woody fibres. This specimen is from Yuma County, Arizona, and is around four inches (ten cm) across.
